Microelectronics is part of the electronics sector. It includes research into and manufacture of electronic, integrated circuits on a microscopic scale. Different types of utilities are therefore necessary in Highcare’s modern state-of-the-art metal cleanrooms. A great example can be found in our realized project for Antwerp space.
Utilities
Air-conditioned dust-free rooms are used for various types of operations. In each design, we prefer to keep piping and contaminating equipment outside the clean room. In the workspaces, different utilities can be connected through the hollow space between the wall panels,. For example, ultra pure water (UPW) clean dry air (CDA), extremely clean dry air (XCDA) and vacuum.
Use of ultrapure water (UPW or HUPW).
Because end users have varying requirements for high-quality water, ultrapure water must meet the most stringent standards and obligations for particle control, system purity and quality assurance.Reliable detection and filtration and control of organic and inorganic particles as these are sources of contamination. This is essential to extract ultrapure water suitable for microelectronics production. Depending on the process-oriented defined quality of UPW, different methods of chemical or physical treatment together form a coherent set of purification steps. These include coarse filtration, carbon or ultrafiltration, water softening, reverse osmosis and distillation.
